Am 36 and have one ovary. I have history of gyne problems. Fibroid, cyst, cervix issues etc.
The question is my hormone levels are low AMH levels. Am 4.6 as of Nov 2017 and entering menopause. I am actively trying for a baby.
I am too low for ivf apparently as it needs to be 5 or above ..
what can I do to help my fertility??? I have a range of side effect from entering menopause and having to have gel for sex as it's getting dry and uncomfortable dowb below.
Please I need some helpful advice. Xxx

Hi, Sarah! I'm so sorry for what you're facing! Couldn't leave your post unanswered. A friend of mine lost her ovary when she was 30 yo. Still they conceived a baby without serios problems. Though when they were trying for baby#2 ( she was 39 yo then) the situation wasn't the same. They passed numerous tests to find out whether the lost ovary was the problem. Finally they had to apply for ivf rounds to conceive. I didn't mean to upset you. I just want to say there are two sides in this story. 1. You do have one ovary, BUT you aren't 39 yo. 2. My personal verdict was 10 % of conceiving with oe, but here we have lots of solutions nowadays. 3. All the issues may be carefully studied with the clinic so that one could find the best way out. Being in your shoes I would not panic. There are so many options for every case! You may read more about our journeys in my today's post. I happened not to visit this board for some time. But the story continues to us as well. I'm paying for you to find more answers and pieces of advice and make further decisions. Wish you the best of luck and support! Take care x
Yes, you're right the AMH level of 5 improves the chances of success in an IVF. But if your other vitals are optimum even in the menopausal state you could be lucky to get pregnant. You can also read about the ovarian rejuvenation process, I came across that on another forum where they clinically undo the ravages of time on your ovarian reserve and reproductive health. Hope this helps... don't lose hope !
Hi honey. I'm sorry you're facing this. Firstly, be kind to yourself always! If you need to lose weight, exercise moderately. Have your own pattern. Strenuous, intense exercise of more than five hours a week has been associated with decreased ovulation. Plus healthy eating, not stressful dieting or sth. Reduce stress. If you can, find a way to reduce stress in your life before trying to become pregnant. Limit caffeine. Limiting caffeine intake to less than 200 milligrams a day shouldn't affect your ability to get pregnant. That's about one to two cups of 6 to 8 ounces of coffee per day. Find a clinic that specialises with people with low AMH. Check out the clinics with stats for women in the older age categories to show you who is good at treating lower AMH levels. Just tried to be helpful. All the very best to you x
