In the UK do I need a doctors prescription to start the process?

My son is PDA so unable to get him to the doctors. Add on to that embarrasment and shame due to the nature of the constipation.

Yes as you will need to ensure you have plenty of osmotic laxatives to carry out the process and ideally the process should be monitored by the Dr.

Use natural food, plenty fruit veg, water. Figs prunes and chia seeds. Plenty water through out the day, get a toilet routine in place. Which should help with times, before and after meals and 1st thing in the morning and before bed male it routine after a snack. Small bag of nuts or fruit. Fig biscuits are a goid source of fibre. Chia seds can go in any liquid base.

If only it were that easy. My son is autistic with demand avoidance so even drinking water is complicated.

Is their anything he'll drink at all. Ice pops of his favourite drink/treat maybe. What has the health visiter/school nurse/ gp done to help. Depending on age he could take a senocot. They do work. Would best be given at home. Dose he eat any fruit.

Has shop bought ice lollies, could try if refuses, but we have been given the lemon and lime as it was the only one available. Must admit it does not taste good.

He is 9. Home educated so no school nurse. The doctor did prescribe the plain one I think ( digital so I did not see) but the pharmacist was no use about the fact it was out of stock.

He eats cucumber and carrots, not a fan of fruit.

The more we suggest the higher the resistance.

He is old enough for senocot, i would get doctors advice 1st though. Would he eat brussle sprouts? Prunes would he try/3-4. Popcorn/sweetcorn in his food. Try make your own ice pops, you can get the tubes to make your self. Will help bake. If nothing is working, get back to the doctor. Hope you get sorted soon.

Its fibre. Dose the same as weet corn. Needs to have a drink to wash it down. Maybe snack on 2xs a day. Dose he do any physical movesments park, walk dancing, exercise at all. Squating will help get his bowels moveing. Took a lot of years of hard work research and fluids to get child to were she is no longer dehydrated/which leads to constipation too. When she gets back monday she'll, be both till she's picked, drink straight away bag of pop corn. Fruit and her tea with lots of veg/sweet corrn , will get her going with flushing her with fluids. Week off school helps, she drinks better. Hopefully the fibre and ice pops help. Through out the day.
