Hello, my 9 yr old son has been prescribed a two week course of LEXIDO. we have been told he needs to take four sachets on day one, then six on day two, adding two more sachets each day until he takes 12 sachets a day. How have you introduced this in to their diet? Do you give it over the day, whenever he asks for a drink or is there a specific amount of time we should give between doses? sorry i'm new to this and a bit in the dark with how it all works.

Are you disimpacting? It sounds like you are. If so you work upto the maximum dose for their age until you reach watery stools with no lumps consistently for a few days before you start reducing the doses down extremely slowly ie one dose every few days until you reach a suitable maintenance dose to remain on. When mixing the sachets ensure that they are mixed-up with the correct amount of water first before you add it to anything else afterwards. You can administer it throughout the day but ensure that they drink plenty of water on top of the laxatives as they don't count towards the daily allowance of fluids.
