I had really interesting conversation with our Chiropractor yesterday so knowing this topic is of interest to a number of you I thought I'd share.....
It was our first proper appointment having seen her for intro consult a few weeks ago. As soon as I went in with my daughter she started telling me about a training/conference she's been on since I'd seen her with a leading pediatric chiropractor from the US. Apparently, he was citing quite a few examples of child patients (even babies) he's been helping with bowel and bladder issues. She was still be totally professional and not saying this was a cure or even formal research but knew that i'd be interested to know that it was becoming a more widely discussed area for Chiropractors to help with in children.
Thought I'd just share it with you all as I know a few of you are considering this route as an option. Feels like we got really lucky with who we found and she's really keen to see if it makes a difference. Will keep you all updated on progress.

No really noticeable change. Slightly less urgency but still daily accidents with the odd (and very few) dry day that gives me some hope. So not sure if it really is improving (even slightly) or whether that's just me wanting to believe that!
We're due for our next appt at Evelina soon too. Really want to push them hard on other things we can do/try because right now it feels like we've hit a bit of a brick wall and I can't see a way round or over it! Am trying not to stress out too much but she's in year 5 now and (without wanting to wish her childhood away) senior school doesn't feel that far off!
The saving grace right now is that it really doesn't seem to bother her at all, she's such a happy, confident child and so I'm dreading anything happening to knock that - hence the fear of senior school......... Sorry, not been on here for a bit and think I've been bottling that up for a while!!
Hello, sorry for the slow reply but thanks for the update. Sorry to hear it hasn’t provided a miracle but the slightly less urgency is a positive. I can understand your fears for senior school and we are only in year one! Good luck with the Evelina, I really hope you get a positive step forward.
We are having lots of dry days at the moment (hurray!) but soiling pretty much daily which never used to be an issue. I am so confused about what’s going on! Disimpaction helped briefly but I am now wondering if it is too much Movicol/Senna. I have cut out fabric softener like one of the mums on here suggested. Not sure the dryness is related to that but has happened since we did that. X
We are on tolterodine for voiding dysfunction (retaining wee) and possible OAB. Next up is invasive procedure with catheter and watching what happens when they fill bladder up. This is in the autumn. Not looking forward to that.
Looking at any possible things like acupuncture or chiropractor which might help him.
He's 9. He's been under investigation for over 2 years now, never been continent. I really want to hope that it will go away at some point soon.
