If you are lucky enough to find the right medication, you could lead a normal life.

With the right dose of the right epilepsy medicine about seven in 10 people with epilepsy will stop having seizures. But it can be difficult finding the right medicine. And a few people might need other treatments. You could contact the Epilepsy Helpline freephone 0808 800 5050 or email helpline@epilepsy.org.uk if you would like more information about other treatments.

Hi, don't give up hope... I have had epilepsy for 39 years and have now gone one year seizure free! Why, I don't know and am trying to find out myself... It can happen! Be positive and remember, to take one day at a time! I have been on the same medication for several years and will not change! Finally, perhaps it's working!
