Hi. I just wondered if anyone else has the same experience? My 14 year old daughter has tonic clonic seizures every 10 weeks, this has been happening since August last year. The doctor & neurologist says epilepsy doesn't usually follow a pattern?? Does anyone else have seizures following a pattern? She is on 175mg lamotrigine twice daily. Thank you in advance 🙂

Seizures every 10 weeks

Do you keep a diary ? Notice anything that she might be doing differently when the seizure occur? Does she sleep ok? Xx
Hi, My son had his first seizure in September 2021 and then the 2nd in March 2022. After the second he was put on Keppra but continued to have seizures every 6 to 8 weeks thereafter. Eventually after his 6th seizure they added Lamictal(lamotrigine) 100mg twice a day to his already 1500 mg of Keppra twice a day so far no more seizures. I was under the impression that there could be a pattern to seizures because when my son was put on the lamictal because of the slow titration the Neurologist suggested that it may not have reached the maintenance dose within the six week timeframe so he may have another seizure. Also the epilepsy nurse always asked me how far apart the seizures generally were I was worried and asked could they frequency increase and she said generally the pattern tended to be the same. My son seemed to have seizures at first due to lack of sleep in the morning but also had one in the evening while playing golf had slept well, no alcohol was just a normal day.
This is only from what I understood maybe other peoples experiences are different. Hope your daughter gets sorted soon xx
hi, I don’t have tonic clonic but my seizure’s definitely follow a pattern. 90% of my seizures are hormone related and the same pattern repeats every month. So far I haven’t found the right mix of medication. Hope you get the medication right for you daughter.
