I am currently on Vimpat 400mg and Briviact 75mg in the process of changing from Fycompa and Lamictal, I had a double seizure in mid afternoon, very violent I broke my skull, in my Local Health Centre, strange, as having Juvenile Myoclonic Epilepsy, since 1970, I usually had them within two hours of waking up, usually stress, pressure and anxiety setting them off? Fully on now with Brivact had one seizure in Dec. 2019, making hands shake is main complaint with this medication mixture. I could have had almost fibromyalgia symptoms, as my health record for last five years, colourful to say the least🙄 I have osteoarthritis so pain on the body symptoms would be 'swallowed' by this complaint. Lack of seizures is certainly a benefit, but certainly shaky hands [I have to type one handed] is my main complaint!

Hi Trinity68

Sorry to hear that you're experiencing body pain and soreness all the time.

I've included the information from the BNF (British National Formulary) which lists the side effects of Vimpat (Lacosamide). bnf.nice.org.uk/drugs/lacos...

If your symptoms continue then it would be a good idea for you to contact your GP to discuss this.

If we can be of any more help, please feel free to post any further questions on here or phone the Epilepsy Action Helpline freephone 0808 800 5050. Our helpline is open Monday to Friday 8.30am until 5.00pm and Saturday 10.00am until 4.00pm.

Regards

Julie
