I had something hit me last night that I’ve never experienced. I wasn’t able to sit up without assistance or lift my legs. I could slide my legs but couldn’t lift them . It scared me to death. Don’t know if it was a type of seizure or something else. It took almost 4 hrs for me to be able to have the usage of my legs again. Has anyone else had this happen to them? Last night I really needed a wheelchair to get around in while I didn’t have the use of my legs. It felt like I was paralyzed from the waist down. Who else has had this happen? Thanks in advance for all responses

Loss of usage of legs and being able to sit up.
So sorry to hear this, must have been terrifying. Really advise urgent medical advice.
Yes it did scare me. Having that happen is making me to want to put in a request to be referred to an occupational therapist or physical therapist to get fitted for a wheelchair. So I’ll have one on hand for occasions like I went through on Saturday. Plus I’ve read on several different occasions that people with epilepsy should be using a wheelchair as well. I don’t mind doing that if I feel like I need to for my safety.
Hi
Thank you for your message. It is possible that what you experienced could have been a type of seizure. We have more information about seizures here: epilepsy.org.uk/info/seizures-explained
But there are also other medical issues that may have caused these symptoms.
If you haven't already, it would be a good idea to speak to your GP. If they think you might have epilepsy, they will usually arrange for you to see an epilepsy specialist at the hospital. This is to make sure you get the right diagnosis and treatment.
If you're unable to get in touch with your GP, it would be a good idea to contact NHS 111 for advice: nhs.uk/nhs-services/urgent-and-emergency-care-services/when-to-use-111/
