New on this forum so hello. After 2- 3 years of Tia like episodes & living with a diagnosis of migraine for 2 years I saw a great neurologist yesterday.Very good at explaining why she feels it's seizures.Has suggested medication Keppra.I am reluctant to start this due to other issues and the fact I went 6 months without issue.

Any helpful comments please.

Hi

If you have any worries about taking epilepsy medicines, it would be a good idea to have a chat with your epilepsy specialist, epilepsy nurse (if you have one) or your GP about this.

I hope you hear from others on this platform, as sharing information and experiences can be a good idea. Can I just check you also know about our other services?

We have lots of information on our website epilepsy.org.uk. Including information about taking epilepsy medicines epilepsy.org.uk/info/treatment/anti-epileptic-drug-treatment

Hello. My husband has epilepsy following a stroke. He is on Keppra 1250 mg twice a day and Lamotrogine 100mg twice a day. After trying different doses he now seems to have stabilized with no side effects. However everyone is different and you never know how the drugs will affect you. Keep in touch with your consultant or epilepsy nurse to help you decide. Good luck.
