I am not driving due to a seizure caused from the side effects of a drug called methotrexate taken for rheumatoid arthritis

It was a one off and now on a different DMARD

Does anyone know how long before I can drive as consultants say it was definitely the drug

Hi Minty1972

If you don’t have a diagnosis of epilepsy and the doctor thinks you may have had a provoked seizure, they can contact the medical adviser at the driving agency to find out more on your behalf. If the driving agency believes your seizure was provoked, they will look at your case individually. Based on a doctor’s advice, the driving agency will tell you when you can start driving again.

If you have a diagnosis of epilepsy, it’s likely you will have to stop driving for 12 months.

Thank you, no history just a side effect of methotrexate and another drug combined
