I am in my last year at uni and don’t really know what I want to do when I leave (I’m studying ecology and environmental science). I am really interested in becoming a paramedic but I have epilepsy. I’ve had epilepsy since 2012. I’ve had 5 seizures the last one was over 3 years ago (I have tonic clonic seizures that last 5+mins, I also have photosensitive epilepsy but they’ve never been triggered by ambulance lights). I am worried about the fact that I don’t drive and don’t have a license at all and it will jeopardise my chances. Does anyone know or able to help me?

Hi
Found this for you:

Driving and a driving test are part of the requirements but have a read.👍🏻
Thank you. I’ll have a look. I guess I might have to find something else to do instead as a license is needed. It’s hard how a few minutes of your life can change what you want to do with your life. Even something so basic to most people like driving. I was so excited to start and learn but 2 days after being cleared to drive I had a seizure (ended up in hospital, I’ve had 3 since then).
I'm sorry, I completely get it re the driving. When I "surrendered" my license I remember thinking drink drivers get banned but can keep their license, it's horrible. 😖
Stay positive if you can, what meds are you on? Also, people on here are lovely and I found it really helpful to share with people who know exactly what you're going through. X
