Epanutin

I took epanutin then phenotoyin (sorry, can’t remember the spelling) for 56 years. My left leg is now useless, the drug killed the nerves and I cannot walk, even at home, without at least one walking stick. The specialist changed my medication to save my right leg!

Hi

My brother was in a very similar position to you, but it badly affect both his legs. His medication was also changed.

We asked the neurologist if anything could be done to improve his walking and although very reluctant and not expecting a good out come he sent him to be tested for Chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (cidp). The specialist was very positive and thought he could help as it appeared my brother did have signs of this. He is now being treated with steroids (Prednisone) and it has definitely improved his walking. It's definitely worth having the test done. Good Luck
