Stress
Hello
I am sorry to read about you.
Here I talk about to you about about different ways to decrease your stress levels which your can cause your epilepsy.
When epilepsy The Unwelcome Visitor TUV suddenly brings on stress levels
My advice to you would be (easier to say than to do) is to start to Positive thoughts. Remember Positive thoughts take you Up but negative ones take you down.
So let's start by doing this. First go onto YouTube and select relaxation breathing exercises. Remember it's free on YouTube.
Once you have selected one that you like. Go into a darkened bedroom or Lounge, put on a pair of headphones and simply lie down and listen to the music and instructions. Now is the time to relax your both your body and mind at the same time.
But with a more Positive and relaxed mind this should make this an easier thing to do.
If this does not work you can ask your GP or neurologist to refer you to see a cognitive therapist specialist specialising in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy CBT
I hope that this has been of some help to you.
Best wishes
Richard

Thank you for the advice I downloaded the head space app to my iPad a few days ago , hoping that this will maybe help , you are right about the negative thing though , my husband is a very half empty sort of person, but me on the other hand is a very half full sort lady , so at times I get dragged down with him , Divorcing him seems a tad extreme 😉
Stress seems to be my biggest problem too, and I'm still trying to figure out how to manage it. Yesterday I did remove myself from the problem and went to my bedroom and calmed myself down, it did work bit of course we can't always just go to our room.
My son finds that stress is one of his epilepsy triggers. He has had to establish more order in his life, for example, by preparing the night before for what he's going to wear to work the next day, packing his lunch, and all those little things that allow him to have a calm beginning to his next day. Also in his case getting enough sleep, which means going to bed at the right time ( put down the cell phone). And finally taking some time out every day to pray, read scripture, meditate, etc.
Another way to 'unwind', which may not suit everyone or every situation, is to walk. Walking hard enough to get out of breath, and with no phone or headphones, in a quiet area, away from cars flashing by and too many people, can put life in a better balance.
Good luck with the stress reduction
