Aching muscle after seizure

Hi,

My partner has just been diagnosed with epilepsy after 2 seizures in the space of 4 days. He is now off work waiting for his muscles to heal as he has a lot of muscle pain in his legal and shoulders. Just wondering if this is common after a seizure?

Hiya sorry to hear this but its common when you have seizures as every muscle you have contracts and its very sore he must be havin a tough time the now to be newly diagnosed and having big seizures to the point of sore muscles which u have no control over once the seizure has started hopefully once he gets medication they might not be too severe or just happen every few weeks or just stop good luck x

Hi Rebecca09, sorry to hear the above with your husband being newly diagnosed. May it not be long before he is able to receive the correct treatment. I have had epilepsy for 41 years, and have Tonic Clonic (Grand Mal) seizures lasting up to 35 minutes! It is normal for the body to feel drained, with aching muscles all over due to constant jerking and contracting of muscles... After a massive seizure, it can take me a good month to get my strength back. I run a motivational page should you ever wish to visit and am Admin for many Groups on Facebook... These can all give you ideas and by chatting with others can also help to share the problem. Please feel free to contact me further or visit: facebook.com/EpilepsyMotive...!
