I had my lap 2 1/2 weeks ago. Removed endo cyst and ovary. No other endo but suspected adeno. Results back from womb biopsy today show it to be normal- does this mean I don’t have adeno?
I’m a bit crushed as I’d really hoped to find an answer to my very heavy periods but feel no further forward. Unless it was the cyst causing them but I don’t think so?

Hiya! I'm sorry to hear that you're feeling so crushed.
As far as I'm aware, if the biopsy has been done and came back clear then it won't be adeno. I understand why you're disappointed, as you deserve answers for your pain, but I wouldn't wish adenomyosis on anyone!
When are you due a follow up with your consultant? Xx
Yes of course you’re right- I wouldn’t wish to have it but I kind of hoped I’d get some explanation/resolution to my heavy bleeding. I don’t have the extreme pain I read about so often on here for which I am grateful. I suppose it feels a bit like I’ve gone through the surgery for nothing. But I suppose there are many folk in the same boat and I am on my way to menopause so hopefully my symptoms will resolve then.
How are you recovering from the op? It'll take some time for your body to recover. Was the endo just on the ovary or elsewhere as well? It might balance out, but will likely take a few months before any Dr will make a decent comment. They get cagey unless you have a good GP
I thought if you had Adeno the only way to really tell was after a hysterectomy. My uterus was swollen, but they never said after, so not sure if it was tested or not.
I’m recovering pretty well I think. Yesterday was my first day with no painkillers. Just the endo on the ovary- nowhere else. Follow up at mid December so no doubt I’ll find out more then.
That’s good progress 🙂 you must be pleased You don’t seem too sure they got it all, see what they say at the follow up. You could request your records to take a look at. Different dept to Gynae, usually info/form on the hospitals website.
