Thoracic endometriosis

Hi,

I have been experiencing chest pains since I was a young teenager but have always put it down to anxiety. I have all the symptoms of endometriosis and am currently trying to get a diagnosis. I am now starting to wonder if the chest pains I experience could be symptoms of thoracic endometriosis. Does anyone have experience of thoracic endometriosis symptoms and diagnosis. I have had an x-ray on my chest 2 years ago, due to persistent chest infections, which didn't find anything, but I don't know if this means I don't have thoracic endo or if it can sometimes not pick up on it.

X-Ray won’t necessarily pick it up, neither will MRI.

I had both which came back clear and was then diagnosed through a bronchoscopy a month later.

I had another x-Ray recently which showed fluid in my lung, but nothing else, even though I still have endo in my lungs.

I’d recommend getting a referral to a thoracic surgeon as they will be able to do all sorts of tests and find what it is, even if it’s not endo. X

Hey EndoG, what treatment have you had for your thoracic endo? My lung has collapsed 4 times now in the past 7 months and looking to get surgery now. I really hope it helps!
