I was very first put on rigividon which is the combined pill the 7 day break one so you still get a period but it’s much much lighter. I changed pill to cerelle which if the progesterone only one that doesn’t give me periods except the occasional spotting if I miss a few a month but you take one every day with no break x
She recommended I go on one I can take one for 3 months continuous.. I’m not sure what hormone levels we need to try and suppress it - I guess I worry about the GP getting it wrong 😫
It not so much the gp will get it wrong the pill is a case if hit and miss im afraid...
I have been on two microgynon( a old one) the got changed to yasmin which i was lucky both agreed with me but i have friends that have tried upwards of 5-10 and then they get one that agrees with them so it a case of “ suck it and see “ im afraid not a case of anyone getting it wrong.
I would say one that u can take continuously would help.
Not a coil or implant coz im a firm believer in once those thing are in ur body ur stuck if it dont agree with u whereas if it a pill u just stop!
I thought it had to be low in a certain hormone?
I thought it was some particular type of pill was better? I want going to comment as I don't really know bit I was put on a pill 2 years ago in the lead up to my laporoscopy to rule out endo, they didn't find any so I stopped taking it but have since been told I have severe endo. Unfortunately I can't remember the name of it but I remember the GP telling me she'd picked that one as it would be the type more likely to help with endo. I sure she said something about hormones. I did have a huge improvement in my symptoms while taking it and some of them haven't returned. Although, I went on to develop new symptoms after stopping it. I've a feeling it stopped growing in 1 but on the pill and when I stopped it started growing elsewhere.
I also wanted to say, I'd tried a lot of pills over the years as contraception and could never tolerate the symptoms so I was really reluctant to try it. This was one of never tried and I didn't have any unpleasant side effects.
Hey Kate,
I’ve just been switched from Microgynon to Cerazette for endo - they usually suggest a pill which makes your periods stop entirely so that the endo doesn’t have a chance to build up again during your withdrawal periods. I’ve only been on the new pill a week now but feeling good so far! Hope the new pill works well for you x
