Bleeding again... and beyond fed up.

Went to the Dr on an emergency appointment (once again today) due to starting bleeding - old blood, yesterday afternoon. Yet once again the Drs bloody (no pun intended) dismissed it (he was not the dr I had been seeing who suggested it may be endo) and put the pains in my stomach which I have had pretty much everyday, some worse than others due to the fact for the past couple of weeks I had been constipated (but still managing to go everyday) and since they have prescribed me laxatives and god knows what else the pain has been worse, the bleeding has started again and well my bowel movements have become every 3-4 days with either being constipated like the laxatives have done nothing or as of today a mixture of constipation and complete and utter diarrhoea (sorry to be somewhat distasteful). My boyfriend told me before I went in to just demand to be sent to a specialist in regards to both my bowels and the unexplained vaginal bleeding, which I wish I did because I'm getting to the point of where it is ruining my life. I've been arguing consistently with my mum because she is sick of me being down, sleeping all the time, crying and god knows what else, Its ruining my relationship with my boyfriend to some extent because sex is painful majority of the time and we are both young and have been together only a year. I'm just moping round when we are just relaxing at home or whenever we try to go out even to the cinema he's constantly asking if I'm ok. He has Crohns so he is somewhat understanding but I feel bad putting him through all of this for the past 4/5 months. I just want to know what is wrong, endo or not. I am beyond sick of being dismissed (other than the one decent dr who's been helpful), feel like I'm just going insane by drs, and they just keep paring me off with medication which doesn't bloody help instead of doing something that can help prevent / see what is wrong internally. WHY is it that in the U.K its the case of just take medication and you will be fine, my boyfriend who's Australian constantly slates the medical profession over here because well, despite the good that they do, they seem to just let people in and out without helping them in anyway shape or form. They are finally doing some blood tests though, after two months of the initial stomach pain and bleeding.

I understand your frustration. Before I got my diagnosis I had been so ill for months and I had the most awful GP. Everytime I went it she asked me to do a pregnancy test (she was pregnant at the time, so maybe that's why), and then send me home with some form of IBS or indigestion medication. you need to stand your ground and request a referral to gynae, preferably a BSGE accredited one if you are suspecting endo. Perhaps you can also ask for a pelvic ultrasound. This is how my endometrioma was discovered and finally got a referral to gynae, which then resulted into an actual diagnosis. Since then, doctors seem to take me much more seriously which is refreshing really. Good luck :) x
