Not yet diagnosed but wondered if someone could help?

Hi just wondering if anyone knows any gynaecologists in the north east/Newcastle who specialise in endometriosis? It's a nightmare trying to be referred through my GP and I'm looking at going private just so I can actually go and talk to someone about it! Thank you

Oooops! Sorry, just realised that that information isn't allowed to be shared on here! Does anyone have any tips of what I do to find this? Without giving me names of consultants etc? Thanks

Hi, you can find a list of accredited endo centres with endo specialists as opposed to general gynaecologists at this website:

bsge.org.uk

Not sure if Elland Hospital is too far from you but there is a private consultant there with a really good reputation. I found him after reading lots of posts on this site about him and being fortunate enough to speak to someone direct who had undergone 9.5hrs excision surgery with him 2 years ago and is really pleased with the results. Search Total Peritoneal Excision or TPE in the search bar and you'll see lots of posts.

I'm also lead to believe St Mary's in Manchester has a good reputation.

Either way I think it's best to stick to one of the accredited centres and if you are considering surgery for endo only consider surgeons skilled in excision surgery which is now the gold standard as opposed to laser or ablation.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes
