update on my father

After a week and a half of thinking the seizure medication was doing my father harm, we took him to a better hospital to get a second opinion after he was getting aggressive and still confused turns out he got viral encephalitis again but mild this time. The last hospital after complaining because they wouldnt to give us answers saying his tests were all fine they discharged home for “ not progressing”. This is so upsetting they misdiagnosed my father and ignored our cries that we knew something was wrong. I am thankful we listened to our gut and brought him to a hospital that cares and took action quick. The MRI showed positive but this time around it’s not as serious as his first time being diagnosed my father can walk so I know with treatment he will make it ok. Doctors said what probably happened was the hospital gave him insufficient dosage. This is so sad how encephalitis viral or autoimmune gets misdiagnosed this is awful 😢

This is so upsetting to hear. I’m so glad you persevered and took him somewhere else!!!!! It’s crazy how some hospitals are so much better than others but I’ve heard that before and had experience myself too (after encephalitis) but I was told I wasn’t able to have something at one hospital but was offered it without me asking at another specialist hospital. I’m really glad you moved him 🥰hope he is ok

I had a couple of seizures after being prescribed anti-seizure meds. The doctor blamed it on my wife wrongly medicating me. Strangely after increasing my dosage the seizures stopped. He showed no signs of embarrassment etc. ......
