Muzzy head and nausea

My husband is currently having anti viral treatment in hospital following a diagnosis of herpes simplex encephalitis 2 weeks ago.He was admitted to hospital as an emergency having suffered a seizure at home and then again in A & E. He is suffering terribly with a thick muzzy head and nausea flare ups which he likens to the worst hangover ever. The doctors do not seem too concerned. My question is has anyone else had these symptoms and if so how long did they last and did you have any specific treatment for them? He is terribly low at the moment and it is difficult for him to see any light at the end of the tunnel. Thank you for reading.

Yes had absolutely the same.Nausea reduced if moved slower as for me it was brain taki g time to accept change of position.Best medicine was 30 minute naps and no stress. I m 8 months on and symptoms reduced but absolutely need same naps to get through days.I m back to workand driving.

Thank you so much for your reply it is such a relief to know that these are not unique symptoms to my husband. He is absolutely exhausted at the moment both mentally and physically but your message gives me hope that things will improve. It looks like a long journey ahead. Best wishes to you for your continued recovery.
