Follow up scan mri after 1 year

Today i got my scan results back from my 1 year mri follow up. Scan still shows partial swelling present but letter says its encouraging. Is it normal for some swelling to be still present after 1 year from having hsv encephalitis . Side noted i will be allocated another 2 mri one in 6 month and then again at 9 month

That is really encouraging. Good progress. I didn’t have a follow up mri but I know my neurologist was aware that swelling and neurons connecting again takes time. With E every bit of positive news feels like a big step up!
