Cycling on three wheels

I've been riding a three wheel cycle like this one for about thirty years on and off.

Here's an interesting video about a tricycle group for the disabled in the UK.

Three wheels mean you don't need to be able to balance. I'm a bit dodgy on two feet. The reclining posture is very fast, especially downhill.

Here's a link to the Brain Injury Matters group in Belfast : twitter.com/BrainInjMatters

In the UK there is a manufacturer where they make my model : icetrikes.co/

Peter Ross the original maker seems lost to history but raced a streamlined version and this may be his.:

Steamlined version of the Trice, 30 mph is achievable.

These look fun, but a bit scary!

Hello G2, the video was fantastic, and the company you listed is the exact one I am looking at!! Where I live, we have miles and miles of dedicated off-road bicycle trails, many of them paved. As I've said, my balance is such that a two-wheeler is out of the question for me. Thanks for posting this great info!

Since we also have dirt trails that go through the woods, I was considering the "FullFat" model:

Hi OG, those trails sound marvelous. You probably wouldn't need tyres quite as fat as those though 2" should be plenty. My road bikes are normally 28mm and work ok on gritty and to some extent on gravelly surfaces. The tread makes a big difference. If the trails are hilly you would need a very low gear ratio and/or electric. Puncture proof tyres and inner tubes are avaiable these days. I haven't had a puncture in years.
