Rheumatologist consultant

Hi sjac. I am not familiar with that rheumatologist and so dont know if he specialises in EDS. The HMSA hypermobility.org. will be able to tell you..
Any rheumatologist other than one specialising in EDS is not able to diagnose it. General rheumatologist have no knowledge of EDS, and will only at best, recognise hypermobile joints but not the complications attached to that..I have recently been diagnosed along with my son, by Dr Hakim. Please see my other posts..
To avoid the run around, or being fobbed off..Ask to be referred to the hypermobility unit at St John & St Elizabeth Hospital in London. It is private, but the fee is £300 per hours consultation, and a diagnosis is given in the hour. Any referrals to other consultants will be arranged and Dr Hakim will liaise with GP and be available to advise...
I can not rate Dr Hakim highly enough. After many years of terrible Doctors, consultants and no help for growing symptoms, illness and disability, at last hope and a quality of life is ahead.
If you need any other info, please ask. I will be glad to help. Best wishes to you both xx
No idea, but I think his name is El-Miedany (Egyptian).
