My daughter has ehlers-danlos (hypermobile type) Can I apply for PIP (DLA) for her?

Hi, I have EDS too – and a long list of other conditions too, it is not the diagnose itself that entitles someone to disability benefits, but how your illness affects you. I had to give up working 20 years ago and have been on benefits since then, I am now almost 50 years old.

All I can suggest is to carefully read all you can find about PIP online and perhaps get someone to help you filling in the forms, they are daunting! Letters from GP and hospital doctors will help too.

Is your daughter a child or an adult? Has she got other conditions too? Remember it is not about diagnoses but how your daughter function in her daily life so everything has to be thought of when filling in the application, not just her main diagnose of EDS.

Good luck!
