Hello, Would like to share one of the best article i've seen on the results of supplementing with anti-oxidants. Not sure how many of you know, but a diet rich in anti-oxidants helps decrease proteinuria, creatinine, and uremic levels.
I would also consider looking into the right minerals that help with this. Here is the link:
When I was diagnosed with CKD in 2007, I looked into nutrition and lifestyle changes that my consultant led me to. It is such a mine field of information some good but some not so recommended. A healthy balanced diet rich in good quality low protein chicken and vegetables and some fruit and quality dairy is the best way forward. Avoid to much of one food at any time smaller portions of higher sugar and saturated fat. I have a organic vegetable and fruit box delivery once a week and feel that is enough for me.
Hi Chris0909
Excuse my limited capability to be able to understand almost every sentence in the article but isn't the over riding message in it is that more research is needed?
It mostly seem to refer treatments aimed at people on dialysis or have I completely misunderstood it?
If there is a message for people in all stages of CKD to help improve or even prevent further deterioration of function can you decipher it for us.
I am sure I won't be the only person struggling to understand it.
Very informative yet to what I could understand, not conclusive. I will agree some of they information has been journaled elsewhere. My concern for information like this is people jump on the wagon and start pounding supplements with the hope of a cure. But thanks for the information. It was interesting.
