Dear all,

two weeks ago had blood tests as i am always tired and have a itchy back, blood results came back as eGFR56.

I am a 45 years old female from Afro Caribbean decent, I was told by the doctor not to worry and to come back and do blood tests in two weeks however I have just received my second Blood tests its GFR64 and again been told not to worry but the doctor wants me to come in to see him. Looking on this site that if your above 60 it should be ok but then I am confused that GFR should be in the range of 90.

any feedback will be great

Hello Jason56

Thank you for your message and welcome to this group.

Your first GFR at 56 May indicate a moderate amount of kidney dysfunction . Your doctor would recheck and as the next test was 64 this would indicate a small dysfunction but an improvement on the previous result.

Your doctor might want to do further tests.

A higher level at a GFR of 90 would be a very mild amount of dysfunction.
