Hi Carolynnecampbell12 and welcome to this caring community. I am sorry to hear you have been unwell recently. Trimethoprim is the antibiotic most widely used to treat cystitis [urinary infections, urinary tract infections]. Trimethoprim is usually taken twice a day to treat an infection, once in the morning and once in the evening. Nausea is one of the side effects of Trimthoprim. The length of time you will need to take Trimethoprim for depends on how bad and where your infection is, your age, whether you are male or female and whether you have any other health problems. It is very important that you continue taking these antibiotics for the length of time they have been prescribed to prevent the infection coming back. Please make an appointment to see your doctor to discuss these side effects. The doctor may wish to prescribe an alternative antibiotic for you. Let us know how you are. Are any other members able to help Carolynnecampbell12, please? Thank you and best wishes.
