Feeling Generally Unwell

Hello,

I am just looking for some kind of support as I am getting very frustrated with constant doctors visits and getting nowhere.

I have had almost constant lower abdominal aching and sharp pains (mostly on left side), lower back pain, needing to urinate more, constantly feeing tired and looking pale and unwell for the last 2 months.

I’ve been to the doctors countless amounts of times and at first because they found blood in my urine and they assumed I had a UTI, I was given 10 days of antibiotics but symptoms didn’t go away so then they moved onto it being an issue with my ovaries, I went for a scan and had a complete blood count done and all was clear. Last doctor visit she suggested it may be my kidneys however urine test has come back clear today.

I just feel at a loss, I want to know what is going on.

Has anyone had anything similar to this? Or have any advice for me please?

Also I have posted in this part of the forum as I can’t find anywhere else, so apologies if it is in the wrong place.

Thank you

- Charley

Hi, I would suggest you have an ultrasound done. It make take finding a different doctor, except I know it must be awful how you feel. The sharp pains could be a kidney stone, as well along with some of your other symptoms. Hope this helps.

Well it certainly sounds like your doctor is taking the correct approach. If I understand correctly they found blood in urine and labelled it UTI. They treated it. And you did not mention it, but the blood stopped?? ? With the other symptoms you mentioned it sure sounds kidney or bladder related (stone, infection). But you said they did a scan of ovaries. I assume they scanned more than just ovaries. And apparently nothing showed. So they again did blood and urine testing. And all seems normal. Ask if this urine test was just with a dipstick, or was more extensive and done in a lab. A dipstick test can report normal results where a more extensive test examine a lot more and can give more accurate reporting. So right now you have no uti, no ovary problems, blood and urine are fine, but you still have sharp pains. You mentioned urinating more often. Lower abdominal pain. Sure sounds like kidney stone or blockage in the urinary tract. A bowel blockage or problem can also cause these symptoms. It pinches the urinary tract affecting normal urination. I'm no doctor. But if your blood and urine are fine. A scan shows nothing. It sure does NOT seem CKD, kidney related.

Hello, thank you both very much for replying. Sorry for the longevity of my reply, I didn’t realise that Anybody had answered.

I have been back to the doctors since and they have found blood in my urine again, so overall now I have had 4 urine tests and 2/4 have come back with blood showing up in them (I have noticed both times blood has been mentioned is when I’ve been in the most pain).

I have now been referred for an emergency CT scan so hopefully that will give me some answers!

Sally10255 , thank you for replying :), if the CT scan doesn’t come up with any answers I think I’ll have to go to another doctor as it’s getting a bit ridiculous. I did think possibly kidney stones, whatever it is though I hope it gets sorted soon as I’m fed up.

@RickHow, thank you for replying :), they did a scan of just my ovaries as the doctor was trying to rule out PCOS first (which he now has) and he has now moved onto thinking it’s kidney related.
