What to expect? How long after until you can resume your normal activities? Advice?
Kidney Biopsy: What to expect? How long... - Early CKD Support
Kidney Biopsy
I had a kidney biopsy 3 years ago. I resumed normal activity the next day. I watched the procedure on you tube and was so worried I cancelled my 1st one. However, when I went ahead the procedure was less painful than having a tooth extracted. The only downside was having to lay still on your back for several hours after. I had the curtain pulled around my bed and puffed on my e-cig for the hours after the op whilst laying on my back.
Good luck, nothing to worry about.
When doing a biopsy they will have you lay on your stomach and ultrasound your kidneys. They numb your skin and do the biopsy using the ultrasound. Afterwards you have to lay flat for a couple of hours to prevent any bleeding. Your fine afterwards but I would wait till the next day to resume your normal activities
When I had my biopsy a few months ago I was told that there was a risk for bleeding because the kidney is very vascular. Try to take it easy for a few days, avoid heavy lifting or strenuous excercise. My doctor told me some people go right back to work the next Day! I didn’t, because I do heavy lifting at work. I felt some soreness for about 3 days.
