Hello, I am CKD 3a, heavy weight, and looking for a 7-days water fasting for weight loss, because recently usual diets didn't give good results.
I wonder if such prolonged fasting could hurt (or benefit) my kidneys ?!

I would suggest you talk to a doctor. I am no medical expert but I would think that such a radical plan of not drinking water is not going to help with long term weight loss and being dehydrated is one of the worst things you can do. It is going to put even more pressure on your kidneys. Please go and see a doctor so that they can help advise you with your weight. I know that losing weight is really difficult but stopping drinking water is not the answer.
In water fasting, we take plenty of water but no food.
My question was about this type of fasting.
Hello EgyZizo, Have just noticed your posts and wonder if you have already tried this 7 day diet or not? I do agree with others who have advised against it as just drinking water gives you no nutrients at all and after a day or so at the most you would feel very weak and ill! I think a much better plan is to see your doctor and work out a diet plan, taking account of your CKD of course (he or she must have diagnosed this in the first place). I agree that losing weight is difficult as there are so many ways of going wrong, but you have to persevere and you will get there!
