boycie, abnormal blood pressure can cause dizziness - I assume your Dr has checked it recently?  Also, has s/he run blood tests (ESR and CRP) to check for any high markers pointing to inflammation as there are numerous possible causes of muscle weakness during activity.  Muscle weakness can be a symptom of later stages of CKD and perhaps others at Stage 4 will come along with their experience.  I am in Stage 3B, and do experience some muscle stiffness rather than weakness but in my case it  certainly isn't due to either fibromyalgia or CFS.  Fibromyalgia usually manifests itself as feeling pain when applying gentle pressure to certain points on the body.

Hello Boycie,

Yes, I have stage 4 kidney disease, and I do get muscle aches.  I don't suffer dizziness though and I think that symptom might need to be checked by your G. P. I just take Paracetamol for the muscle pain as I cannot use Ibuprofen due to being on Warfarin.

I hope you find this reply of some help.

Hi Boycie,

I know you posted this some time ago. I've been diagnosed as having Fibromyalgia and have enough experience to know doctors are prone to use fibromyalgia as a fob off - or perhaps a well meaning - I'd prefer not to answer your question.

Unfortunately a lot of Doctors see fibro women as fragile flowers who cant cope with any form of anxiety. This certainly doesn't describe me. For me - uncertainty is what provokes anxiety.

If you have concerns about how your kidneys are travelling, make sure your Doctors do all the appropriate tests required. I'm at stage three and know fatigue is a symptom of my particular Kidney disease profile. ( but possibly not yours ! ) Fibromyalgia should not be included in the conversation when you are at stage 4 kidney disease and require clarity and honesty as to what is going on.

I am not saying fibro is not causing your fatigue. Just make sure your Doctor is being honest.
