Cervical collar

Can anyone recommend a soft cervical collar which does not come into contact with the throat? Sounds like dumb question…I am a survivor of severe sexual assault. Anything touching my throat triggers trauma.

That is not a dumb Q and under the circumstances a real must re throat pressure. I’ve no experience of such a collar but hope something is suggested soon. You may need to get one especially made which supports at the sides but has a ‘cut out’ section under the chin to offer the best option for you.

All the best

I use a neck pillow - the kind one uses on airplanes to sleep with. It allows my head to drop from side to side but gives it some cushioning at the same time. And nothing on my throat.

that's a nifty idea and probably cheaper than the specially made collar (unless you can get a prescription for it and run it through insurance CDSux ). i hope one of these suggestions helps!

I just told my husband the other day that I wish I had something to hold my head up. I’m new to this world. How often do people wear them?
