DRWF, in collaboration with children’s charity Over The Wall, present Camp In The Cloud, a free to attend interactive, online family camp in for children living with type 1 diabetes. The events follow last year’s first Diabetes Wellness Family camp, also in partnership with Over The Wall. This year we can’t all go away to camp, but we can still get together online. Camp in the Cloud is a one day virtual camp for families with children aged 0-17 diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes (one child in the household must be aged 8-17 years).

Camp in the Cloud is our innovative, inclusive and engaging virtual programme, where campers and families can experience the magic of a DRWF & Over The Wall camp from the comfort of their home. Campers are given exclusive access to the bespoke Camp in the Cloud platform, where they can engage with a mixture of online and real-life activities. There are opportunities for campers and families to interact in real-time with others who are attending the same Camp in the Cloud, through secure message boards and fun video calls. Campers are sent our ‘Seriously Fun Box’ in the post, containing every single resource they need to participate.

This virtual camp addresses the needs of all the children with the aim of bringing the magic of the residential camps directly into their homes, plus for those families who were unable to attend a physical camp this year, Camp in the Cloud offers an amazing opportunity for children to benefit from the activities, meet other children living with type 1, make friends and have the chance to share experiences and learn.

Camp in the Cloud activity boxes will be delivered to campers and families, with hundreds of children logging on to a bespoke online platform for a fully interactive camp experience.

“We have launched a free virtual version of the ‘Over The Wall’ outdoor event with 150 family places released the 2021 programme, scheduled for Saturday 27 March , and a second event on 16th October.” says DRWF CEO Sarah Tutton

“During these difficult times we are pleased to be able to continue to support people living with diabetes through a variety of means. The continuing partnership with Over The Wall means we can also offer this family Camp in the Cloud to families with at least one child living with type 1 diabetes, the whole family will benefit, including other siblings up to the age of 18."

A lifeline to families whose children are living with Type 1 Diabetes during the Covid-19 pandemic ‘Camp in the Cloud’ offers free access to the latest help, advice and support in a fun and accessible way.

I think there's only a another week to apply, so if you know anyone with child with type 1 please do let them know about this. 🌐👨‍👩‍👦⛺
