Why do people think wine won't hurt me?

I am not even a recovering alcoholic since over 20years.

The amount of spite I have witnessed over the years is almost always alcoholic fuelled.

One woman more than 7times said to me in a pub "have a proper drink, a lager or wine". Then there was a guy who wanted to see me and I said not until Monday because I have 2 dogs staying.

He phones me 5 times giving me all the flannel. Then he said how about I come to you and bring some wine.

My reply was No, I don't drink. I Don't even like taking cough or cold remedies.

He says a it's lovely wine.

I said call me on Monday.

He called 5 more times. But what I am asking in this post do others have this problem.?

People who know and care about me never push alcohol on me. I’ve experienced it when I was still going to bars, even when I was trying to quit drinking. For me, to stay sober, I had to remove the temptations to drink. And that included not going to bars. Being pressured to drink in bars comes with the territory. 🍀

Hello I don't think drinkers and non drinkers get on I think you are very responsible having 2 dogs and putting there welfair first he doesn't sound very nice and I would find a friend that isn't bothered whether you drink or not I wish you happy drink free new year I had nothing over Xmas and felt better for it I was with my mam who doesn't drink she offered me one I said no I'm happy not to drink, I am hoping to stop completely people who drink regular will get health problems in the end take care 🤗🌟

Thanks for your reply. I had many dogs stay when people were on holiday. But I was told that I was a bit soft. I wasn't. They were also happy to see me when I was outside and met them.

The guy was rich, handsome and but NOBODY interferes with my dogs.

Hi good for you im58 nearly and I met a rich handsom.mam once he was very controlling and self centred I refused to go with him long story but he called me a little girl annoyed he couldn't have his way he got nasty showing his true colours, people like that are often spoiled and like there own way his lack of concern for your dog's shows me he's not such a kind man 🤗😺

What I have found through experience is when I have said no to people something isn't possible it has shown their true colours when they have become nasty over it!

Genuine people would let the matter drop and say ok then and move on.

How are you and Prince Pixie getting on?

in reply to

Baby likes sardines as well!

Had a soggy walk this morning up to Roath park and back which I enjoyed in spite of getting absolutely soaked but when it rains I find the parks are more or less deserted here.

Our nye buffet is king prawns, small sausage rolls, peanuts, crisps, cold pasta, sandwiches and scotch eggs.

Not drinking makes a lot of other people feel very uncomfortable and will mock and nag you.

I have fallen off the wagon before. Anyone who says “it’s good to see you drinking again” is NOT a friend.
