Hi everyone, I had a stroke about 14 months ago and lost my mobility. I didn't get physiotherapy to learn how to walk again because I believed I would naturally regain my mobility in time.
So far, that hasn't happened. Although, I walk around the pool or push my partner around in my wheelchair, I've decided to do some physio. Perhaps a bit late in the day but I'm wondering what you guys think. Is it never too late, after a stroke, to benefit from physio?
Thanks, Andy

Hi Andy. Have you tried the guidance on the UK Stroke Association web site? One or two universities have projects that can be used at home to exercise and may be available commercially. The cheapest that I've seen used a PlayStation Kinect sensor linked to a TV, that encouraged people to stretch for objects.
It may depend on where in the brain the stroke occurred. Ask your clinician whether it's likely that neurogenesis or neuroplasticity can occur.
