Hi all. Rob here. I had my stroke 22 May this year. Right side dead. Leg an arm. By the

7 th june was discharged with a note - no medical problems. Whent home where I had the local stroke nurse and physio visit me. Was soon walking and gripping again with loads of excersise. Felt more or less like my old self and then Wham - the post stroke fatigue set in!

This changed my life and how. Still have it now, four months on. The cure is supposed

To be 8 hours sleep every night. More than 9 being bad for you, as is less than 7 I was informed.

Thats when I discovered the worse. The stroke fatigue prevented me completelt from sleeping - at any time in any way! The doctor could only 1 drug out of the large number we tried this being zopiclone. A drug which you could become ' dependant' on.

Of course my body got used to the drug and I must tak more to get any sleep.

Has anyone got any experience of my plight???

I’m sorry you have this problem and even more sorry that it has become an addiction. I take two heavy sleeping medications every night but still wake up about every hour all night long. I wake up due to pain! Either in my hips, my shoulder, my arms, my hands, my knees, legs or the bottom of my feet. I probably shouldn’t do this but I sleep with a heating pad and am always having to move it the whatever body part is hurting the most. It all helps but I NEVER wake up feeling rested. It’s almost like every day I wake up I’m more exhausted then the night before I went to sleep. I do not understand all the joint pain but it is significant. I take high dose pain meds and still have constant pain. I hope this helps some. I can understand ur being tired. Its ruff.
