I am new to this post. Have acute kidney failure. Trying some medications first, but if they don't work, dialysis. I am very apprehensive about doing this. Any advice is welcome

Acute kidney failure
Good morning.
What has caused your kidney failure? Some medications can slow it down, it depends on the diagnosis. Dialysis is terrifying to most people, but you can still have a good life. I've been on dialysis for 26 years. I still go to work and enjoy life. It takes a while to get used to the diet and routine. You will need a fistula or line somewhere for access. Once things settle down and your body gets used to the treatment, you will be ok. My advice? Ask lots of questions, learn about your treatment and above all, stay positive. Try not to let it get you down. Good luck.
When my kidneys failed was necessary in a week to be put on dialysis had a neckline inserted after about ten month it started breaking down next best option for me was home PD dialysis much better for me did this four times a day for eight month then went onto over night eight hours machine does all for you and you have all day not tied down so would advice you to ask your nurse about this hope you feel better Sonia
