I was wondering if any HHD patients could tell me exactly what blood results are uploaded on RENAL PATIENT VIEW in your unit? I was particularly interested to know whether Iron results are uploaded in your unit wherever you do HHD.

I have been using Renal Patient Review for about 12 months and it means that I can look at my results about 24 hours after the tests have been done. The way they do it now is for you to choose which results that you want to see and this is instead of having pages of items that you do not need. The iron result is on there and if I remember correctly it is down as Ferratin, if you put cursor over it then it will tell you. I found it very good because unless there is something that is high we never really get told or as in the instance of iron- when it is low and they need to give you some to bring it up.
Thanks for responding to my post regarding blood results on renal patient view. I was wondering how one chooses which results you want to see? In my unit they do not upload the ferritin results for some reason, why they withhold this information is unclear, but I understand if the info is not in the local unit system it cannot be sent to RPV.
Got to admit I have just moved unit and hardly any of my results got put on RPV. But they told me that I needed iron last time. Once bloods are done may be worth asking ward sister if your results are ok. I found in my old unit the only time they discussed my results was if anything was high- if it was ok never said anything to me. Do miss looking at my results so that I can monitor things and ask questions myself.
