Ok, sir. What is your opinion about homeopathic medications for diabetics?
It is a matter of personal choice. I am not using homeopathy for myself, but my wife does and I simply support her decision. I had used homeopathy for spondylitis about 30 years ago and I got relief. But then, that particular doctor was very famous in Nagpur.
Homeopaths telling that it will be cured in 2 years through route cause and they have given 3 types of pills before and after food for the morning and evening. Are there any side effects, sir?
There may not be any side effects, but if it takes two years to see any positive effects, then it might prove to be risky if you don't get any results because two years is a long time if diabetes is not controlled. Personally, I am skeptical about homeopathy to manage diabetes.
Is it better to go for other type of medication, sir? I need your suggestion because I have to run long. Can I expect 25 years with good diet and control?
You have to consult a doctor who's specialised in diabetes. Preferably in a clinic dedicated for diabetes care. Most cities have such clinics nowadays. You have to go for annual comprehensive checks and quarterly follow up checks. But more than medication, diet control and increased physical activity are essential for proper sugar control. Knowledge about diet, exercise and stress free lifestyle is very important. How is your weight? If you are overweight, reducing few kilos will go a long way.
I have not got an opportunity to use Raagi grain in my diet, but is considered to be a highly nutritious ancient grain. Of course, one can use it as a regular food particularly in breakfast/ lunch as it keeps you full for longer time.
Many believe it is good for diabetics also. However, as a diabetic If I decide to use it, i will monitor my blood sugar to see how much it spikes and accordingly adjust the quantity which my system can accept. If you are diabetic, you should follow the same to avoid any surprises. Below is a link you may find useful:
No. 100gms of ragi has approx 80gms carbohydrates. As a diabetic your daily carb intake should not exceed 100-120gms. So, absolutely not. Use kala chana atta instead. Approx60gms carb out of which 12gms is fibre. So great for diabetics.
Better no raggi as it is high carb food.Better mix grinded channa roasted with 50% atta and prepare roti.It should be only one time one peice should not weigh more than 50 grams. No grain at night.
