In small quantities it's OK.. But if u have fatty liver (coomon in type 2 diabetes) then it's adviced not to have alcohol..

yes it is bad for Diabetes stage I & II. You can't judge the sugar level when you consume liquor. sometimes it may go very high and sometimes very low. pl try to avoid it.

Tequila lowers blood sugar because the agave keeps food in the stomach longer and this makes the body dump more insulin into your system.

Alcohol is fine as long as you don't have Liver or kidney problems. But your doctor is your best adviser for this. My doctor says it is fine and the reason they caution its use is because it lowers blood sugar. So eat something while you are drinking and for mixing use water or diet soda, no juices please. Also if you are taking medicine like Metformin, then drink after five hours of taking medicine. You could ask your doctor for the safe period to drink after taking diabetic medicine, this is because some medicines react with alcohol to produce lactic acidosis etc. Beer is the only alcohol with carbs but the quantity is very low. The limit for men is two drinks a day and for women is one.
