What is the safer dose of Metformin I have been recommended 2000 mg with in 24 hrs, is it safe dose as My Fasting BS range form 140 to 170
Maximum dose for an adult is 2550 mg.You are in safe range but report to your doctor if any problem,particularly gastric, occurs.
Within 4days after increasing 1000mg metformin dose after dinner prescribed by my doctor My FBS come down to 120, At present Diabetic recommended medicinre are Pioz 30mg before breakfast along with Metformin 500mg after lunch & 1500mg after dinner now I am with extra dose of metformin without gastric problem, should I contiune all dose with long time?
You are on a high dose.So,keep a close watch for side effects.Aim for reducing the dosage by other means like better control over diet and more exercise Being on a heavy prolonged dose better avoided.
My daily diet plan are breakfast 50 to 60 grams sprouted CHANA, MOOG & METHI with green salad at 9am, 2 chapati at breakfast,with green vegitable at 12:30pm, 2 chapati at dinner with green vegitable at 9pm & 150 ml cow milk at evening 7pm. with prescribed medicines Pioz 30mg before breakfast along with Metformin 500mg after lunch & 1500mg after dinner now I am with extra dose of metformin , should I contiune my avove diet plan or need any change suggest me.
