It is good for a diabetes if he is slightly underweight, because, he will consume less sugar. Contact a dietrician and get his advice if you still want to put on weight.

Safe weight for your height is around 70 kg.If you are loosing weight,you should get your urine tested to see if albumin is present.Consult a doctor.You cannot regain weight unless your sugar levels are controlled.
