yes rice is very good for diabetic patients. especially the brown rice which is rich in fibre and magnessium , can protects against the onset type2 diabetese especially for adult women. make brown rice part of your three servings day plane it will balance your sugar level. another food that can help you is organic oat, it contains a substance called beta glucan that breaks down slowly in your digestive tract. and longer digestion time means lower blood sugar for you, so you can start your day with oatmeal flavoured with a handful of raisins.
I am diabetic and I have been advised that brown rice is best for diabetics and also basmati rice is OK as well, so when I do eat rice I cook brown basmati rice. It is the white flour in bread and pasta that is not good also white rice. Everything needs to be wholemeal not just brown. There is a thing now of course of not eating carbs only proteins and green veg. Not sure I could stick to that one! Espeicially in our cold winter climate.
