It annoys me.

My GP knows I have peripheral neuropathy in my feet as a result of type 2 diabetes. It seems there is no cure because he has never recommended or prescribed anything for it.

I get treatment on my toenails every six months at the Podiatry department of North Devon NHS. They know I have a recorded 0% of feeling in my feet when tested with the pointed stick. If there were a cure for neuropathy, they would surely let me in on the secret.

Why, then, am I bombarded by advertisements for socks that will cure neuropathy whenever I venture onto farcebook? As I wrote above, it annoys me. In truth, it ******* annoys me, no end.

I googled will B12 supplements help with diabetic neuropathy and got this answer;

Yes

According to 2 sources

Low B12 levels can cause neuropathy. A long-term RCT of people with diabetic neuropathy and low B12 levels showed that taking a B12 supplement (methylcobalamin 1000 mcg) decreased diabetic neuropathy symptoms.

I asked my GP about B12; he sent away my blood for testing; my B12 level is fine, I would not benefit from any more B12, so no supplement for me. I do hope you find some relief.

Blame the algorithems! You google something out of curiosity and then it keeps coming up. Sometimes you can block or unsubscribe (even though you may never have subscribed!)

My experience: 20 years ago one of my symptoms was burning feet at night. It was very distressing. I had a B12 test and it was borderline but the doctor started me on B12 injections. For 17 years my burning feet has stopped. I was still diabetic. After 17 years and on instructions from CCG to get as many people off B12 injections as possible, the GP stopped the injections. Six months later I was suffering with burning feet at night. Asked GP to do blood test and it came back B12 under range. That is when I started googling if it could be the case. At the moment the GP is prescribing cyno tablets and told me to have another blood test next March. I did buy over the counter B12 spray but it did not do anything, but the pills that have been prescribed seems to be helping because my feet haven't been so bad.
