Is hypertension preventable ?
Well, just speaking from my own limited experience one should watch what one eats and try not to pile on the weight. If you are overweight the heart has more length of blood vessels to drive the blood through, i.e. there is an increased load so the heart has to work harder hence blood pressure goes up.
The other factor is precipitation within and therefore narrowing of the arteries. This is a function of diet. Google which foods are good for not clogging the arteries and those foods which have an effect on cleaning out the arteries. Regarding the latter I believe vitamin K2 has a cleansing effect, I do not know for sure but I have recently bought some and I am trying that out. I do not know how I measure it's effect I have not yet done enough research, however I am giving it a try. From my own simple logic I conclude that if your arteries have been cleaned out even slightly then the resistance to blood flow drops and therefore your blood pressure drops.
Hope this helps.
Though cause of hypertension is not known, there are certain factors and conditions which help in the development of this condition and these include -
Smoking
Obesity or over weight
Sedentary life style.
Excess of salt in diet
Old age
Excess of alcohol
Family history of hypertension
Genetics.
As my uncle used to say, God gives your friends but the Devil your relatives. When it comes to our health they have a lot to answer for.
I have a Vitamin D deficiency and developed high BP because of it....Im taking Vitamin D3 and K2 the MK-7 from Natto Extract which is supposed to be better than the MK-4 version. one of the vitamins even healed a patch of skin cancer. Lady at Health Shop said it was probably the K2..........
