Hello my name is Quita55. I've been a diabetic for more than 30 years. I'm struggling with high blood sugars and I'm scared to be honest my bs was 595 this morning I have been able to get it down, but I know that if stay on this destructive road there will be serious consequences. I know I'm not ready to throw in the towel. I know that I'm not alone, but I do feel alone any advice would help.

Good morning, my first question is - how are you managing your diabetes? First and easiest thing to do is exercise (walking, bike riding, swimming, engaging in programs at the gym, etc.), next is diet (reducing carbs & sugars, smaller meals, no late evening snacking, etc.), finally taking meds (insulin if low insulin in your system is the contributing cause, or GLP's if insulin resistance is the contributing cause). Understanding if there are other contributing factors, e.g. taking steroids such as prednisone as they cause increases in blood glucose. I'm not a medical professional, only speaking from my personal experience. Outside of seeing an Internal Medicine doctor (your primary care doc) you might want to see an Endocrinologist to help identify issues.

Best of luck to you!!
