hard of hearing

Hi Chrisellen, I have had a different experience to you, i became profoundly deaf in both ears last year and now have a cochlear implant. I to struggle in crowds, i usually get my partner to repeat things and i also have a portable microphone which also sometimes helps. Its not perfect but its better than having no sound at all, maybe you could look at deaf equipment to see if there is anything you can get to help you. Sorry i couldn't be of much help.
Hi Thank you, I have heard of microphone, I don;t think it will help me. I rely on my hearing aid and lip read, don't lip read very well. but guess some of the word. sometime i guess wrong and get a be embarass. My husband help me what i dont hear.
you help me a lot. Thanks
I also lipread and sometimes guess, the family are always laughing at me when i get things wrong, you shouldn't feel embarased. I use a mixture of lipreading and sound. I use the microphone with my partner when traveling in a car or in a busy supermarket its not perfect but it does make things a little easier.
sorry for delay been ill. i'm stating to not to get embarass. My family always corrected me. our friends knows, sometime they forget that i'm there lol. sometime i keep quiet. I will get myself a microphone if it help me. Thank you for mention it to me.
