Also, there is a program called LSVT ..Lee Silverman Voice Therapy for PWP...but I know nothing about it.

Hi Joan,

Yes, there is something that would work, but you have to keep at it every day or you will lose it again. It is called, as Beachdog said, LSVT, and you have to go 4 or 5 days a week for the first month or so (I may be wrong about that) But anyway it is a big commitment.

There is a singing group that we have here called Tremble Clefs that seems to help some people. They give concerts and so on and their practices give their vocal chords a good workout. I can't go because I don't drive anymore, so that's the reason. Otherwise I would go in a flash.

I think the important thing is to keep talking loud, even if you think you are shouting. Sometimes I answer the phone around 11:00 in the morning and the person calling me says "Oh, did I wake you up?" My voice is very raspy at times.

Joan,

I did the LSTV program and it is 5 days a week for a month. The biggest increase in voice came from saying "ah" in a big voice as long and as loud as you can keeping it fluid. Wtih practice you get so you can go longer and longer. You start with a normal voice "ah" 10 times and then go to a high pitch then low pitch "ah" 10 times twice a day. You must keep it up or you do go back to where you were.
