Here's a good happy question: What Cheers You Up When You're Feeling Down?

What Cheers You Up When You're Feeling Down?
Music I like. When I'm feeling stressed/frustrated/etc at work, I get out the iPod and listen to my latest, favorite tunes and that cheers me up.
Here's another example, but it's about feeling stressed rather than feeling down:
When I was in grad school and it was close to or during finals week, I'd take a break from studying by going over to the field house and juggle. Getting a clean break like that, absorbed in something I enjoyed, was relaxing. That made it easier to go back to studying.
For different people it is different things! However I would say firsty that when you start to feel a little low, don't ignore it. Take action immediately. Don't wait. Secondly have a plan! Don't think that you can lift your spirits if you don't make some poitive steps. I have a playlist on my iPod called Anti-glum. I also stop whatever I had planned for the day and where possible do things I enjoy paint, write, cook.
Finally I find it important to have an output, something tangible that reaffirms a skill or a value. A canvas that becomes art, a pile of flour that bursts the kitchen with the smell of cheese scones, a blank page now a scrawled letter telling my partner I love him.

Good one. I finally realized the merit of stopping what I was trying to do and go do something that I know will be easy and enjoyable. Before, I didn't want whatever it was to prevail over me. Now, I'm a little wiser, and come back later, after I feel better.
I have a little book called JESUS CALLING by Sarah Young, It is a daily devotional type book and is always right on. I depend on my spiritual relationship with Jesus to get me through each day.
Classical music, specially Bach does it for me, also being with my GSD Lucy, whose nearly 7 and was a rescue dog. Just a pity I can no longer walk her by myself. I swear she grins when she's playing in the garden. I also like to while away time playing in my greenhouse and always come out feeling better.
It is neither wealth or splendour, but tranquility and occupation which gives happiness
The message is clear, plan with attitude prepare with aptitude, participate with servitude, receive with gratitude. This should be enough to separate you from the multitude
